Katharine Payne is a visual artist and writer based in Ukiah, CA. Drawing influence from the Italian Renaissance she uses ceramics to explore how identity is imbedded in everyday objects. Her work has been exhibited at the Oakland Art Museum and is part of the permanent collection of the Mendocino College Ceramic Archive. Katharine is a 2016 Windgate Fellow and holds a BFA from California College of the Arts in ceramics with a minor in visual studies. She just completed post graduate research in Europe and is preparing for a solo exhibition.
